How to Download Albums
LiveTracks.com uses a Java-based Download Manager to download your files. To use this version, you must have the latest version of Java installed on your computer. Please note: At this time (April 2010), the current release of Google Chrome for Mac does not support Java. Google Chrome users on a Mac will be using our Manual Download Process.
- On the Order Confirmation or My Music page, click the download link to start your download. The Download Manager will launch either as a Java applet or as a Java Web Start application depending on your operating system.
- You will be asked if you wish to trust the signer of the application, named appliedSB. Select Yes, as appliedSB is our download partner. If you choose to not trust the signer of the Download Manager application, you will not be able to download content using the Download Manager.
- The Download Manager will read your manifest file and prepare your download. If there's any problem with the manifest file, or it's empty, a notice will pop up. Simply go back to your "MY MUSIC" page and reattempt your download. If the problem persists, don't worry! It may just be that your songs have already been downloaded multiple times, or that your links have expired and the system isn't reopening them for you. Just contact the store where you purchased your content, and they'll work on reopening your order.
- Once your manifest has been unpacked, you can choose the folder where you'd like Download Manager to save your files, or use the default folder it chooses. The default folder location depends on your operating system:
- On Windows XP, this would be in a folder inside of My Music named by the store. After downloading files from Tom's Music, you would find those files in My Music\Toms Music. The full path would most likely be c:\Documents and Settings\yourUserName\My Documents\My Music\LiveTracks.com\Toms Music.
- On Windows Vista & Windows 7, the default folder is inside of the Music folder in your User folder. So, for example, after downloading files from Tom's Music, you would find those files in Music\Toms Music. The full path would most likely be c:\Users\yourUserName\Music\LiveTracks.com\Toms Music.
- On Mac OS X, the default folder is inside of the Music folder in your user home folder. So, for example, after downloading files from Tom's Music, you would find those files in Music\Toms Music. The full path would most likely be /Users/yourUserName/Music/Toms Music.
- Click Download Files to begin your download. If any files fail to successfully download, Download Manager will attempt them up to three total times.
- After your download completes, you can find your files in either the default folder listed in #4 above or, if you chose a different folder, the folder you had selected.
- If anything at all went wrong during your download process, Download Manager will ask you if you'd like to submit a bug report to us when you close it. If you've had any difficulty getting your files and you're going to contact Support, please fill out this bug report with your contact information and submit it to us, as it contains debug information and what messages you received from our download servers which will help us troubleshoot any issues you may have had.
